Our Process at Pediatric Neurodevelopment Center
in Atlanta, GA

At Pediatric Neurodevelopment Center, we understand that each child’s journey is unique. Our dedicated team is committed to providing expert, personalized care for children with neurodevelopmental challenges. Here’s how we support your child’s development and well-being at every step:
1.
Initial Consultation
Your family’s journey begins with a free Initial Consultation by phone. During this initial consultation, we listen to your concerns, gather brief developmental history, and discuss your child’s needs. We will answer questions about our services and the practice. This session helps us tailor a care plan that feels right for your child and family.
The most common next step is a comprehensive Intake with Caregiver(s) and or young adult patient.
2.
Intake with Caregivers (and young adult)

The Intake appointment is the most common next step. This meeting can be virtual or in-person and typically lasts about an hour. For children and teens, this meeting is with the caregiver(s). If your child is a young adult, they will often join or lead the Intake appointment as appropriate. We will ask you or the adult patient to complete forms and share relevant records before the appointment. During the Intake, we will review developmental, educational, and medical history and discuss concerns and questions. Initial education might be provided about any expected patterns of developmental differences. If your child was previously evaluated, the Intake will focus on updates or changes.
At the conclusion of the Intake, recommendations will be made for next steps. This typically includes an Evaluation with the child or young adult. Alternatively, hourly Clinical Consultation may be recommended.
A cost estimate for recommended services will be provided at the Intake appointment so you can determine next steps.
INTAKE FEE
The fee for the Intake is $375 and is due at the time of the appointment. If your child will undergo an evaluation, this fee is credited towards the cost of Evaluation Services.
3.
Neuropsychological Evaluation
During the Neuropsychological Evaluation, we will:
- Assess your child's unique strengths and weaknesses across domains
- Assess symptoms of concern based on age, development, and medical history
- Assess symptoms along a continuum from normal to clinically significant, and whether your child meets criteria for a diagnosis (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Intellectual Disability, etc)
- Assess whether symptoms fit an expected pattern
- Explain in detail the results and what they mean
- Explain how results relate to brain imaging or a medical condition
We will create a plan for your child with recommendations that address concerns at home, school, and in the community. You will receive a full report to share as needed. We want to give you a roadmap for what's ahead!
EVALUATION FEE
The fee for evaluation will be clarified at the time of the Intake. This fee is based on the amount of time needed to assess questions and concerns, the amount of testing needed with your child, and the age of your child. Evaluation fees typically range from $1500 to $3500.

Ongoing Support and Adjustments
As your child grows, so do our recommendations. Touching base across development will allow us to make adjustments and respond to your child’s changing needs. Our team remains available for continuous support, offering guidance and resources to empower your family throughout your child’s development. We will help you prioritize what matters. We can also review outside records if you have questions and concerns for which you need clear direction and recommendations.
5.
Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions - SPACE
Anxiety symptoms often start during preschool or early school-age years. Anxiety also co-occurs with neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism, ADHD, learning disorders), other psychological concerns (e.g., depression, disruptive behavior), and with medical conditions (especially following medical trauma ).
When anxiety disorders go untreated, the lasting impact can accumulate over time. Anxiety can be associated with communication delays, academic problems, social challenges, reduced independence, behavior problems, and delays in adult transition.
As a parent, your role to protect, nurture, and guide your child means that you have the most potent influence over how your child copes and lives with anxiety. This is why parent focused treatment for anxiety disorders can be so effective.
