
Kathleen O’Toole, PhD, ABPP-CN
Dr. O’Toole completed her education and training as a neuropsychologist at Georgia State University, Emory University School of Medicine and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). She trained as a school psychologist with a specialization in developmental neuropsychology that led to a 27-year career as a pediatric neuropsychologist at CHOA, working as an inpatient and outpatient senior neuropsychologist. She is board certified as a Clinical Neuropsychologist and certified as a Pediatric Neuropsychologist by the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABPP).
Prior to becoming a neuropsychologist, Dr. O’Toole was an educational specialist and received a master’s degree in communication disorders from Emory University. She worked as a resource room teacher for children with learning disabilities and a classroom teacher for children with autism spectrum disorder.
As a senior neuropsychologist at CHOA, Dr. O’Toole evaluated and worked with families of children with acquired and congenital brain disorders, epilepsy, neurofibromatosis type 1, liver and kidney transplants, learning disabilities, attention disorders, and Tourette syndrome. She also developed a cognitive remediation program to help older children learn necessary executive and adaptive skills to become more independent as teens. This program has been published as a book at Oxford University Press.
